AZ Tax Credit

Thank you for making education at DVLC possible for anyone by participating.

Desert View Learning Center is committed to ensuring that NO student is denied access to Desert View because they are unable to pay our tuition. Our scholarship program pays full or partial tuition for approximately 25% of our children and is funded by the Arizona State Income Tax Credit for contributions to private schools.  You can help fund DVLC scholarships without incurring any extra cost to you.  Arizona offers its residents an opportunity to redirect a portion of their Arizona tax obligation in support of the financial aid program of their favorite independent school – DVLC. Participants then receive a dollar-for-dollar credit against their Arizona income taxes.

How does it work?

1. Send up to $2,483 if married and filing jointly ($1,243 if single) to the Arizona Independent Schools Scholarship Foundation (AISSF). AISSF will send you a receipt for your contribution. When filing your taxes, complete forms 323 and 348 to deduct the full amount of your contribution as a credit on your state tax return.

2. Arizona State will then give you a dollar-for-dollar credit against your state taxes. Any amount counts as a payment towards state income tax and reduces the total amount you owe the state. If the combination of your contribution to AISSF and the taxes withheld from your paycheck is greater than the amount you owe the state, you will receive a refund from the state.

Who can participate?

  • All Arizona tax payers can participate! Please encourage your relatives, friends and neighbors to direct their tax dollars to AISSF for Desert View scholarships.

2. Fill out the form including donation amount (a credit of up to $1,243 is allowed for a taxpayer filing as single, married filing separate or unmarried head of household and up to $2,483 for a married couple filing a joint return.  AISSF will send you a receipt for your contribution. When filing your taxes, complete forms 323 and 348 to deduct the full amount of your contribution as a credit on your state tax return).

3. Choose DVLC in the drop down menu under 'Specific School'.

4. Pay online and collect your tax credit contribution when you file your taxes.  Arizona State will then give you a dollar-for-dollar credit against your state taxes. A school tuition organization cannot award, restrict or reserve scholarships solely on the basis of donor recommendation.

A taxpayer may not claim a tax credit if the tax payer agrees to swap donations with another taxpayer to benefit either taxpayer's own dependent.  Required by HB 2663 and HB 2664, May 2010
